What is it? Also known as “parvo”, parvovirus is a serious and often deadly disease caused by a highly infectious intestinal virus. Parvovirus attacks rapidly dividing cells within the body, commonly involving the gastrointestinal tract, lymph nodes and bone marrow. A less common form of parvovirus affects the heart muscle.
